RESkill4NetZero project marks first-year success

by | Dec 2, 2025 | Project news

More than 550 students have enrolled in renewable energy training courses developed under Work Package 4, marking a strong first year for RESkill4NetZero. These results were presented on 20 November when project partners met in Brussels to review progress and set its goals for 2026.

Project partners  also shared updates on deliverables achieved, curriculum development, urgent training programmes, skills needs analysis, and communication activities. Specifically, members discussed the launch of the project’s European Renewable Energy Skills Alliance. The European Renewable Energy Skills Alliance is a strategic response to one of Europe’s most pressing challenges: the skills gap in the renewable energy sector. The Alliance aims to bridge this gap by creating a unified, cross-border skills ecosystem that supports mobility, recognition, and excellence in training.

An important agenda item included the 2026 Vision Workshop, where partners:

  • Imagined what success would look like at the project’s midway point in November 2026.
  • Worked in breakout groups to define mid-term goals, identify milestones, map dependencies, and highlight risks.
  • Emphasised tangible outputs, collaboration, and impact, with a focus on realistic and achievable objectives.

In terms of next steps, the project will focus on:

  • Finalising and disseminating the European Renewable Energy Skills Strategy.
  • Launch new communication channels (i.e. Instagram).
  • Prepare for the next round of skills needs analysis and curriculum refinement.

Overall, the meeting was an opportunity to explore synergies and strengthen collaboration. Partners’ ability to deliver, adapt, and innovate has positioned RESkill4NetZero as a leading force in building Europe’s renewable energy workforce.

Now that the Alliance is launched, we’re inviting all partners to join us in shaping a resilient, future-proof workforce for Europe’s renewable energy sector!
